Camp Freedom is more than a hunt, fishing trip, or hike on our pristine 2,350 acres. It is an opportunity for those who are seeking continued healing in their life’s journey to find spiritual, physical, and mental peace that can only be found in the outdoors. We provide high quality outdoor adventures to our American Heroes combining each activity with peer to peer interaction and camaraderie.
The opportunities for disabled Veterans, First Responders, their families, and Gold Star families at Camp Freedom are endless. Camp Freedom allows these individuals to experience the outdoors in a safe and protected manner while giving them exposure to the life healing benefits of outdoor activities with people who care deeply about them and their journey.
WHY WE DO IT
There are over 4 million disabled Veterans in the United States. Many of these heroes live life devoid of opportunity to find a new mission and purpose once again.
Law enforcement officers, firefighters, paramedics, and other first responders continually see the worst of human experience. The ravaging effects of fire, the emotional and physical damage caused by accidents and abuse, the threat of personal attacks, constant stress, and an inability to save everyone they attempt to save takes a toll.
Whether trauma is a single occurrence or cumulative from repeated exposure to trauma, the results lead many down a pathway of isolation, drugs and or alcohol, and desperation.
Camp Freedom is a unique organization that offers hope and help to Veterans, First Responders, their family members, and Gold Star families onto a pathway of recovery and strives to keep families together through peer to peer interaction, camaraderie, and outdoor activities.
HOW WE DO IT
What makes Camp Freedom special is that we utilize the outdoors to save lives and rebuild families.
Our outdoor adventures provide individuals and families with an experience of a lifetime that enables them to move forward in their life journey. We specialize in creating adventures for our Veterans, First Responders, their families, and Gold Star families at NO COST to them.
The combination of excellent service and care, a loving attitude by staff and volunteers, and one of the most incredible properties in the Northeast United States allows us to serve our American Heroes in many ways that help them discover purpose and mission in their lives once again.
