The Fine Arms & Classics Invitational

The Host Committee is excited to announce The Fine Arms & Classics Invitational to be held on August 27th at the world class Lehigh Valley Sporting Clays and the home of Bill and Laura Bachenberg.  This over-the-top event will assist Camp Freedom’s mission of supporting our American Heroes – Disabled Veterans and First Responders, their families, and Gold Star Families.

The afternoon will feature shooting many of the finest shotguns and classic shotguns in the world.  The event will start with lunch at noon and then off to shooting around the sporting clays course. This is not a tournament, these bespoken shotguns will be located at various sporting clays shooting stations where you will have the opportunity to shoot these fine shotguns and even learn a little of their history.  In addition, we will have a double rifle lion hunt, a SIG Sauer handgun station and a few other side activities.

For the non-shooters, enjoy relaxing around the lake or spend some time fishing for trophy large-mouth bass.  Laura will have a wine and cheese cruise on the lake before the evening activities.

After an exciting afternoon of shooting, we will drive our shooting carts around the lake to our log home overlooking the lake.  The late afternoon starts with fine wines and spirits, special cigars and mouth-watering appetizers followed by a unique dinner served family style.  You will not want to miss bidding on some very unique and some one-of-a-kind live auction items.

About Camp Freedom

Camp Freedom is a year-round adventure camp for individuals with physical and mental disabilities, including Veterans & First Responders and their families, and Gold Star families (our Guests) which provides quality hunting, shooting sports, fishing, camping, hiking, biking, and other outdoor activities. These activities remove individuals from clinical settings into the healing environment of the outdoors and nature. We also promote the social well-being of our Guests by fostering interaction with their peers, their families, and volunteers, thereby establishing relationships for a lifetime. Camp Freedom focuses on abilities and strengths rather than disabilities. Activities are led by Camp Freedom’s staff and volunteers and are adapted to give every Guest the opportunity to participate. Camp Freedom also provides services to other non-profits who have a similar mission for a greater collective impact.

Our property has populations of whitetail deer, elk, red stag, black bear, turkey, grouse, coyote, fox, waterfowl, beaver, and more. We have over 880 acres of fair chase estate hunting and over 1,460 acres of free-range grounds. We have two ponds that provide varied fishing opportunities along with 2½ miles of access to the Lackawanna River for incredible trout fishing.

Because of generous donors, there is no cost for our Guests and their families to experience Camp Freedom and all it has to offer.  Camp Freedom ... Healing Heroes with Outdoor Adventures.
